The Dead Sea is also home to an abundance of wildlife, and nature lovers will not want to miss a visit to The Ein Gedi Botanical Garden is located at Kibbutz Ein Gedi which features a large and fascinating collection of plants, from all five continents. The plants thrive here due to the unique climatic conditions provided by the Dead Sea - its hot summers and mild winters , combined with air borne minerals , allow for rapid growth.

Visitors can expect a sensory experience like no other, with amazing scenery and a rich diversity of color found nowhere else.

The Ein Gedi Dead Sea gardens feature a staggering variety of flora with over 1000 recorded varieties from all over the world acclimatized to the local conditions – plus 1000 varieties of cactus.

Travelers are especially welcome to visit the ancient Baobob Trees, since this is the most northern point on earth at which they are capable of existence.

The incredible range of plants includes palms, pomegranates, olives and figs, which hark from places including Madagascar, Australia,North America and Africa.

Visitors can also take advantage of a special night time tour in order to view the blossoming of the Seacret night kingdom as well as the insect activity which only happens in the dark.

The Ein Gedi Botanical Gardens are the only ones in the world which have a resident community – a kibbutz of over 500 people, making these Dead Sea gardens and their gardeners,inseparable - and it’s beautiful plants a tribute to its gardening staff.
